Our mission at Square 1 has always been simple: meet men where they are. Now, with the launch of our new site, we’re doing just that; with clearer messaging, improved navigation, and a platform built to break down the barriers that keep men from reaching out.
Why we built a new site
Too often, men struggle in silence. Many have been taught to suppress emotion, to appear strong by staying quiet, to fix things on their own. But isolation isn’t strength, it’s suffering in disguise. And the cost is too high. Depression, anxiety, burnout, addiction, and suicide are claiming far too many lives.
The original site helped us take our first steps. It gave us a voice. But we needed more than a voice, we needed a clearer message and a better way to connect with those we serve.
So we rebuilt from the ground up.

Why it matters
We don’t need to guess why men avoid mental health support. We’ve heard the stories, seen the damage, and lived it ourselves. Shame. Stigma. The belief that asking for help means you’ve failed.
We reject that thinking.
Square 1 exists because real strength starts with being honest; with yourself and with others.
